Plants No Light Bathroom
Remember when a plant is labeled low light it doesn t mean that it needs low light.
Plants no light bathroom. Can plants live without light in the bathroom. Caladium is a perfect plant for a low light bathroom if you re ready to grow it in the water. In fact this is one of those shower plants that would gladly share the space with you.
If you want to add height to a dark corner in your bathroom then choose the regular variety that grows up to 3 ft. If you re growing a caladium houseplant cut a few leaves with stems and transfer them into a vase filled with fresh water. These are often labeled as low light plants but in fact they do better if you give them a little direct sun.
Snake plants or sansevieria are another great option. Chinese evergreen plants are native to tropical and subtropical regions of asia and new guinea. However they can tolerate lower light conditions but won t reach their full potential.
Adding plants to a bathroom with no natural light is doable with only a few select plants or as a part time plant home for a few days at a time. That means you can easily grow a beautiful plant with very little maintenance. For small bathrooms with no light choose the dwarf cast iron plant that only grows to 18 45 cm.
These are some of the easiest plants to care for because they are so low maintenance. Use a grow light and or overhead fluorescent lighting to add needed light to your bathroom and expand your choices. The size of your shower likely will limit the size.
Choose plants that naturally grow in low lighting. Understory plants hailing from rain forest settings do quite well in. If your windowless bathroom is also tiny or if you don t trust yourself to stick to a consistent watering schedule try a zamioculcas zamiifolia zz plant or a sansevieria snake plant.
Keep replacing the water every week like lucky bamboo and cut leaves of caladium will not wilt for many weeks. This plant can tolerate poor light dry air and drought which makes it perfect for bathroom decor. Ferns naturally grow in the outdoor equivalent of a bathroom.
